I don’t recall the first time I spoke to Miranda, but I saw her numerous times in Los Angeles during 1998 and 1999. I went to all her appearances from an opening slot with The Need to her guest appearance with ICU and Dub Narcotic Sound System. She even appeared on my radio show once doing a performance with Zach Love. The last time I saw her was at CMJ in New York when we took a cab to meet up with Calvin Johnson across town.

He was sitting outside the theatre at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art before a David Lynch presentation of “Lost Highway”. He posed for photos with me, record a show ID for my college radio show, and gave me his email address to stay in touch. We later met up again at an Annie Sprinkle performance in Los Angeles. He is a very charming fellow.

I went to a taping of The Screen Savers during the time he was on the show and met both Alex and Kevin afterwards.

I went to a taping of the Screen Savers in 2004 and met Kevin, Alex, and Kat afterwards. I had a nice chat with the boys about the real estate market in Southern California and gave all 3 of them copies of Lovespirals’ first CD.

Was in the doorway of a pub in San Francisco during the World Cup 2006. The place was packed with drunken guys, standing room only, shouting their heads off. Not the best atmosphere for an intimate chat…
